Why
As a member of the Jewish People, you possess a rich spiritual heritage,
proud cultural tradition, and beautiful, absolutely beautiful, homeland.
They are a constant source of inspiration and strength that has kept
this people alive for almost 2000 years of exile. Now we have our land
back, and can be at the Western Wall, the last remaining part of the
great Temple of Jerusalem , in less than half a day. And, with Taglit-birthright
israel 's grants, for free! What wouldn't our ancestors have given
for that opportunity?
Who
People of all backgrounds who are eligible to participate in a Taglit-birthright
israel trip are welcome to be a part of "In Search Of".
This program is about what must unite us - the Jewish People and Israel

and build bonds among Jews.
What
"In Search Of" is a ten day program of discovery
that will challenge your mind, heart, arms and feet. Ancient mysteries
and modern realities will come alive as we hike, kayak, climb and ride
our way across Israel . This program is ideal for people of all religious

Here
is what one participant had to say:
“I want to thank you for providing the opportunity for
me to visit Israel . It was the most amazing experience of my life.
In Jerusalem , I had the opportunity to see the spiritual beauty of
the city and learn about the fascinating history of my ancestors. The
vigorous outdoor activities such as the archaeological dig and the
hike up Massada were very fun and created a great sense of connection
to the land. Throughout the trip I was exposed to very interesting
information about Israel 's most powerful leaders such as Yitzhak Rabin,
who helped protect Israel from opposing forces from the time he volunteered
for the commando unit of the Jewish community until his assassination
in 1995. The most amazing part of the trip was going to the Independence
hall in Tel Aviv. While sitting in the same hall where David Ben-Gurion
had declared Israel a state, I felt a rush of emotional gratitude and
love for the persistent and brave defenders of our nation. I had never
felt so proud to be Jewish. Moreover, I felt a great sense of responsibility
for the security and longevity of Israel . My experiences in Israel
have made me more active in my synagogue and the Jewish community as
a whole. In my University, UCLA, I plan to get more involved with a
Jewish club on campus called Bruins for Israel . I want to strengthen
the ties between my community and Israel by educating students and
building support groups. I want to thank you again for your dedicated
support for Israel and the young Jewish Americans around the world."
