Shalom Parents of Kfar 2008
My name is Dani Yemini from "Yeladim-Netivot" and I am happy to be the Director of your kids' programme.
I would like to express my appreciation to you parents for sending your children to participate in the programme, and also to the schools and the heads of the schools, and most especially to Rabbi Doron Perez, who did so much to help this programme to come into being. I also want to express great appreciation to the leadership of B'nei Akiva South Africa , and the shlichim, especially Nomi and Dean of the Israel Committee of B'nei Akiva, who worked so hard and showed such commitment and dedication.
The three-month journey upon which we are embarking got underway today, and we are all full of excitement about what the future holds.
This morning after a long night's journey, your kids arrived safely (and early…) in Israel , and we took them straight away to Jerusalem and we davened shacharit at the Kotel. This was certainly a meaningful and exciting opening to the programme.
Your kids arrived at their schools; the boys at "Makor Chayim" and the girls at "Amana" Kfar Saba. We were welcomed very warmly by the pupils, with whom they will surely become close friends. The next two days will be dedicated to preparing ourselves for Yom Kippur, with the youngsters being given inspiring speeches, studying at workshops and engaging in numerous study activities.
The first Shabbat will be a group Shabbat spent in Gush Etzion and the following two weeks of Succot holidays will be joyfully spent touring, visiting biblical sites and much more. More details and pictures to follow.
Please note that our first free Shabbat for both the boys and the girls will take place on Shabbat Chol Hamoed, 16th/19th October, and I should be grateful if you would see that arrangements are made for them. If any parents would prefer that we make arrangements for the youngsters, we will, of course, be happy to do so.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our wonderful madrichim to you. For the girls,
we have Tzipora from Ra'anana, and Tamar from Efrat. Whilst the madrichim for the boys are Moshiko from the Golan, and Devin, who came with the group from Johannesburg. Please feel free to contact either the madrichim or myself if you have any queries or comments. Madrichot Israel phone is:052-5167019 and the Madrichim Israel phone is:052-6041313
I am sending you a few pictures of the group at the outset of their visit. I take this opportunity to wish you and your families a Shana Tova and Gmar Chatima Tova.
